A note from the founder
The Foundation
I have always been drawn to the small details of a home. Not perfection, but the feeling of being settled. The comfort in the simple beauty of the everyday: a cozy chair, the scent of fresh flowers, the warmth of a cup of tea on a cold day.

Est. '82 was born from that love. A desire to gather timeless pieces that feel familiar yet enduring, inspired by quality, heritage, and everyday living.
That love turned into a simple idea: a nod to simpler times, when things were made with care and meant to be passed down.
From my workshop in Oakville, I make each serving board slowly, choosing wood for its character and finishing it by hand. Alongside that, I curate pieces from Canadian makers and trusted suppliers who share the same approach: quality over speed, use over display.
This is not about filling a home.
It is about being intentional about what stays in a slower way of living.

The Meaning Behind the Brand
My philosophy is simple: good things take time, and good homes are gathered slowly. Here, we don't chase trends. We gather, we keep, and we tell stories through the homes we lovingly create.

Our logo of the three maple leaves, reflects the layered history of Canada itself, honouring the Indigenous, French, and British heritage woven together.
It serves as a reminder that home, like history, is built over time through care, resilience, and connection. As the company grows, more of our Canadian heritage will be reflected in our products, our partnerships, and the stories we share.
Why Est. '82?
1982 is the year I was born. As the brand took shape, the name made sense: a quiet acknowledgement of foundations, Canadian heritage, quality craftsmanship, and choosing things built to last rather than chasing what's new.
Established '82 is rooted in values that remain constant and a commitment to slowing down in a world that rarely does.
